Senior Procurement Officer

A leading industrial company looking for :
Position Title: Senior Procurement Officer

Basic Function: 
The Procurement Officer will help deliver optimum value for money across the company by providing procurement and administrative support to the company.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The specific objectives for the role are to:
1. Provide a strategic, efficient and flexible procurement service which will deliver optimum value for money, cost savings and best quality of service.
2. Advise and support company staff in procurement and supplier relationships helping to drive better procurement practice.
3. Support the Procurement Manager in procurement activities such as the tender process, grant requirements, supplier relationships and contract management for goods and services as applicable.
4. Assist in the development of internal procedures and documentation of procurement.
5. Assist company in managing commercial and reputation risks in its relations with external suppliers
6. Assist some teams with purchases and order enquiries
7.Ensure purchases are properly approved in terms of company published authority levels and purchases are raised using the electronic purchase-to-pay system

Key Responsibilities:
-  Providing procurement support for the company and assisting in and supervising the procurement of goods and services and other procurement activities.
- Administering supplier contracts
- Leading and monitoring supplier relationships
- Assisting in the implementation of supplier contracts
- Assisting in the development of internal procedures and documentation
- Assisting in the ordering of key supplies and acting as a purchaser for some teams.
- Feeding back departmental sourcing requirements to help identify where aggregated spend might offer better value for money.
- Communicating opportunities to achieve better value for money through better procurement practices
- Communicating improved ways of working besides any other procurement or buying requirements.

Academic Qualifications: 
1. B.Sc. in Business Administration or Accounting or other related fields.
2. Minimum 7+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company preferably. 
3.Proficient level in use of computer software.
4. High level of written and oral communication skills besides attention to detail.
5. Specialized procurement knowledge in oil industry is a plus.
